Nigerian Designer Amaka Osakwe, Joins Other Famous Designers At "Celebration Of Designs" With First Lady, Michelle Obama At The White House!!!

Nigerian designer, Amaka Osakwe, the founder and creator of Maki Oh an African based fashion label met with the first lady of the US  on Wednesday night for the first time making history as the first African designer to be invited to the White House by the first lady for a special event celebrating some of her favorite designers.

The event tagged "CELEBRATION OF DESIGNERS: Michelle Obama Invites Her Favorite Designers was held at the White House in Washington Dc.

Amaka Osakwe, is the only few Nigerian designers with global recognition. It will be recalled that Mrs Obama rocked a Maki Oh top during her 2013 trip to Africa. The designer who started her women's wear in Lagos in 2010 attended the historical event with her proud parents, Chief and Mrs. Gabriel Osakwe and also had the opportunity to mingle with other top designers like Prabal Gurung, Jason Wu, Diane Von Furstenberg, Naheem Khan, Narcisco Rodriguez, Georgina Chapman and many more. Also present at the event was Run-way Icon, Naomi Campbell.
