Aretha Franklin, 'Queen of Soul,' Dead at 76!!!

Aretha Franklin, the "Queen of Soul" whose recordings of such classics as "Respect" and "Chain of Fools" made her the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, died Thursday of advanced pancreatic cancer. She was 76.

Franklin was born March 25, 1942 to Rev. C. L Franklin and his wife Barbara, but her parents split shortly after moving to Detroit when she was six. Her father was a popular preacher and she grew up with gospel greats like Albertina Walker and Mahalia Jackson visiting her home.

Over the course of her career Franklin received multiple honors, including The National Medal of Arts and The Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Aretha Franklin Is Now In Hospice Care!!!

Many of us knows what it means to be in hospice care and today we 'Say A Little Prayer' for 18-times Grammy Award winning Queen of Soul, Ms Aretha Franklin who is now under hospice care in her home in Detroit, MI, following a long private battle with cancer.
The 76-year old music legend is an American treasure, who was the first woman to be inducted into Hall of Fame. The "Respect" singer has performed at the inauguration of 3 American presidents: Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
Ms Franklin was also awarded the presidential medal of freedom by President George W Bush.
So, today, whether going home or staying a little longer, we are sure God will say, well done!
You gave the world so much good music from many genres....Soul, Gospel, Blues and Opera....
Aunt Ree, as you were fondly called, your voice spoke to the soul...It cured sadness, eased pains and brought so much  joy and peace to many around the globe. So, no matter what God has planned, or in His timing, may your transition path be peaceful and pain free. May He wrap his arms around you and carry you all the way. Amen.

Queen Of Soul, Aretha Franklin Is Gravely ill, Family Says!!!

We are sending prayers up to heaven for music icon, Aretha Franklin who is reportedly gravely ill. The Hall of Famer has struggled with her health in the past but this time around, the singer is very sick and her death is "imminent" People's Magazine confirms.

According to People's Magazine. a long time friend of the Queen of Soul has confirmed to the magazine that the Grammy award winning singer has been sick for a long time but did not want anyone to know.
Although there isn't much details on the severity of 76-year old illness, she is reportedly resting and surrounded by family and friends. The Franklin's family are "asking for prayers and privacy" at this time.
