The gorgeous actress attended the Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on June 11th in Century City, California. It's her first public appearance since giving birth to her first child in April.
Ms Washington along with fellow actresses, Cate Blanchett, Eva Longoria, Rose Byrne and "Frozen" writer and director, Jeniffer Lee were honored by the non-profit group on Wednesday for their career achievement.
Scandal creator Shannon Rhimes presented Washington with the Lucy Award for developing dynamic and diverse female characters and giving women a chance to soar on both sides of the camera.
Receiving the Award, Kerry charge women to take risk in revealing imperfection to tell authentic stories about their experiences.....
"When we step up for ourselves, we create opportunity, whether it's because we inspire other people or we employ other people"....she said
Kerry and husband, retired NFL player, Nnamdi Asomugha welcomed their first child, Isabella Amarachi Asomugha on the 21st of April, 2014.
