Apparently, the Eagles left Nigeria for Brazil solely on 'promise to pay'
After their game with Argentina which ended in 2-3 against Nigeria, the boys felt it was time for 'Oga' Keshi, to show them the money!
So, the players boycotted training on Thursday, June 26th, 2014 for lack of payment. They are scheduled to play against France on Monday, June 30th 2014.
Speaking with KickOffNigeria Joseph Yobo said....."We are football players, this is our career. When you get on the pitch, you can't think about anything apart from football. This money issue was there before the first match, it was there before we played Bosnia and it was there before we played Argentina and it did not distract us. We met the officials before and also met with the Senate president and we agreed on some things before the competition started"
Upon hearing the about the boycott, President Jonathan took the time off his extremely busy schedule to fix this! Yep, he called the camp and promised to take care of it....And yes, he did!
The Nigerian Minister of Sports and Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Tamuno Danagogo has been appointed to take some "Ghana-Must-Go" to Brazil and personally hand deliver their payment.....Yep! That's how we roll....lol.
It kind of makes you wonder, why? What in the world happened to their bank accounts? Why does anyone have to fly down to Brazil for this? How about ''Bank To Bank Transfer"? Like my friend would say.....What's my own self?
Well, the issue is settled and the boys are back in camp to prepare for the match against France on Monday. Hopefully this will help them play a better game. We wish them the very best!!!!
