Prominent business mogul and Islamic leader, Alhaji Abdulazeez Arisekola Alao, the Aare Musulumi of Yoruba-land is dead. He was 69. Alhaji Arisekola died yesterday, Wednesday, the 17th of June, 2014 in London where he was reportedly receiving treatment for colon cancer. Reacting to the news of his passing, the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency Abiola Ajimobi described the Aare's death as tragic, disheartening and a big blow not only to Oyo State but to the Country at large.....

The Governor whose statement was issued through his special adviser on media, Dr. Festus Adedayo, described the late Islamic leader as a devout Muslim, a shrewd businessman and a philanthropist whose commitment to the cause of the downtrodden in the society was unequaled.

"Aare cannot die as those who lived the kind of life he lived, with imprints in the lives of millions of people never die. He lived a life that was devoted to the lives of others. It is indeed the end of an era for us in Ibadan and Nigeria in general" the governor said.
Until his death, the Alhaji Alao was the deputy president-general of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (N.S.C.I.A). Family source say his body will be flown down to Nigeria tomorrow and buried according to Islamic rites. May his soul rest peaceful in the Lord.....Amen!!!
