The Nurse Who Attended To Liberian Ebola Victim Dies In Lagos From The Disease!!!
This Ebola "ish" is getting more real and scary as hell! The disease claims it's second victim in Lagos Nigeria. The Federal Ministry of Health has reported that the nurse who treated Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian Ebolo victim, has died.....
This makes her the first Nigerian to die from this deadly disease. The Minister of Health, prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, confirmed during a news conference, that about five other medical practitioners who participated in the treatment are already infected with the virus. The five infected are currently receiving treatment at an isolated ward in Yaba, Lagos!
With the way things are in Nigeria, which doctor really want to attend to a patient with this deadly disease at this point? I mean, the men and women who treated Sawyer are heroes. They went in there, knowing the dangers involved and did what they have to do. The question is, who is protecting the doctor? What measure has the federal government put in place to curb the spread and to protect the doctors who are taking this much risk? It goes a long way to show how human life is of no value to the Nigerian and African government.
The American with Ebola was flown back to the US from Liberia in a heavily insulated private jet, received by well equipped medical personal covered from head to toes in hamzat suit, even the driver of the special ambulance used to transport the patient was covered up in hamzat suit and after being treated with special serum, they are in isolation under observation. What in the world will it take Nigerian and African governments to do the same foe their citizen?
Folks need to take preventive measures as well. Wash! Wash! and Wash again......Wash your hands with soap and water, starting from your elbo. keep sanitizers within reach at all times. Do not exchange clothes with anyone. Be mindful of gatherings and people you mingle with. Quit it, with that bush-meat pepper-soup stuff. Stay away from attending burial of any body that you do not know the cause of their death. The Ebola virus is so powerful that it's still very alive and active even when the victim is dead, that is why immediate cremation of the corpse is advised. Pay attention to people who are sick with fever symptoms and most importantly, if you come down with any kind of fever, get to a doctor fast. May God help us all!!!
