Soldiers, policemen and operatives of the state security service as well as men of the civil defense corps were all deployed to the state ahead of the election.
National spokesman for the All Progressive Congress (APC), Lai Mohammed was reportedly arrested on Friday and was released on Saturday morning. There was no word on why he was picked up in the first place....
Accreditation started as early as 8am after which the voting started at about 12.30pm. Incumbent Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and wife voted earlier in the day. Though there are 20 candidates, the battle is believed to between the All Progressive Congress and the People's Democratic Party. We wish both candidates the very best of luck....May the best man win!!!
