"This is for Kap"
Three time host, soul sister Eryka Badu kicks up the show by taking a knee in solidarity with Collin Kaepernick who is yet to receive a new NFL contract, was recently named GQ's citizen of the year.
"I know I usually do a big elaborate musical number, but right here I feel I need to this," before taking one knee. "This is for Kap," Badu declares!
"Kap we appreciate you, for giving up your life, your dream, for your belief in us."
The audience gives a standing applause and throws their fist in the air as a sign of respect. Badu then checks her phone, mocking Trump's response to critics. The parody tweet reads on Screen......
“Erik Baydo kneels at 30th Slave Train of Soul Awards. Cancel Now! #CountryMusicBetter”
Badu tells her band to give her a tune and she gives example of dances such as “The Running Immigrant” and “Grab Her Vagina”.
