Nigeria's President-elect, Alhaji Mohammadu Buhari today inaugurated a 19-member transition committee to liaise with the out-going administration to ensure a smooth transition.

The terms, according to the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Lai Mohammed, is to develop a clear frame-work liaising with the out-going administration for the purpose of a smooth hand-over/take-over and to receive hand-over documents from Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and itemize the most important or most urgent issues confronting the in-coming administration....

Christie Scott is Bruce Jenner's first wife and mother of his two older children, Burt and Cassey Jenner. They were married for nine years (1972-1981). Ondo State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi has been reportedly impeached. Olanusi who was found guilty of seven impeachable offenses of gross misconduct was sent packing by 24 out of the 26 Ondo State House of Assembly members that were present at the plenary, including the speaker of the House, Jumoke Akindele, who has given directive that.....
"all the government properties in possession of the deputy governor be handed over to the Permanent Secretary in the office of the Deputy Governor"....ouch!

Former NTA Presenter, Naana De Souza Has Died!!!!

So sad! One of the best voices in the Nigeria broadcasting industry, Naana De Souza has succumb to her 6-year battle with cancer. She died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana on April 20th. She was 59!

Souza was a seasoned presenter, with Silverbird Television and later NTA.
 She was also a writer and radio personality who had a her own talk show for many years before relocating to Ghana were she had continued to do great things. She was diagnosed with the deadly disease about six years ago and had battled it with courage and grace until she lost the battle a week ago.
May her soul find rest in the Lord!

Nigeria Will Not Be Getting It's First Elected Female Governor After All.....Hajia Aisha Al-Hassan Loses To Darius Ishaku In Taraba Re-Election!!!

Oh Well! I guess we celebrated too soon....

Only a weeks ago history was reportedly made. It was widely reported that a female, Aisha  Al-Hassan of APC had been declared the winner of the Taraba state governorship elections making her the first ever democratically elected female governor in the history Nigeria.
Nigerians all over the world saw this as a welcome development and immediately began to celebrate her win but sadly, that election was later declared inconclusive and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ordered for a run-off in some polling units across 10 local government areas of the state.

At the end of Saturday 25th's re-election, INEC declared the Peoples Democratic Party's candidate, Darius Ishiaku as winner with a total of 360, 318 votes as against Hajia Al-Hassan's 275, 985 votes.

From the looks of things, both candidates may be heading to the Tribunal as Hajia Al-Hassan has refused to concede defeat.
 Rejecting the the results, Al-Hassan describes the election as
"Day light robbery characterized by violence, massive rigging, ballot snatching and abuse of the card readers in substantial parts of the state by PDP and their allies", and said the party will challenge the results in the Election Petitions Tribunal...

Oh well, there goes our hope for a the first elected female governor....It sure would have been nice!!!

Glory to God! Bobbi Kristina Brown the only daughter of late Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown who has been in a medically induced coma after being found face down in her bath tub over two months ago has woken up from coma. Dad, Bobby Brown revealed that during a performance on Saturday night in Dallas, Texas...."Bobby is awake, she is watching me" he said.

Bobby Brown's sister, Tina Brown later corroborated that when she posted on her Facebook page.....

"So many messages, sorry can't answer them all right now but i will get to them later..just allow me this time with my family,,yes, she woke up and is no longer on life support!!!!:):)God is good!!thanks for your prayers,,still a process,but she is going to be ok:):):)."

Though, the 22-year old is no longer in a medically induced coma, she remains unresponsive, grandma Cissy Houston said in a statement on Monday after visiting her grand-baby.

"Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me" Houston said. "We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time" she added.

Well, God is still in the business of miracles. The doctors said she will not be able to get off coma and she did. That alone is a confirmation that only God has the final say. #StillPrayForBobbiKristinaBrown!

Nigerian House Of Rep Member Calls For Evacuation Of Nigerians In S.A.!!!!

The Chairperson of the House of Representative on foreign affairs, Nnenna Elendu-Ukeje has called on the federal government to act very quickly by making an arrangement to have all Nigerians in South Africa evacuated within 24-hours, following recent xenophobic attacks. She said it in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.....

"The Federal government of Nigeria should rise up to the occasion by having contingency plans to evacuate Nigerians within 24-hrs to avoid us losing our citizens to these attacks. It is expedient to think of where all Nigerians can gather within 24-hrs for safety either in our embassy or mission for the safety of our citizens"....she said.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who is the chairperson of the House committee on Diaspora also condemned the attacks and said that the House of Representative members will move a motion in it's next plenary session to discuss the attack.....

Thumbs-up ladies. That't how it's done!....the Nigerian government have been too silent on this issue...#Sad Something needs to be done and it needs to be done fast!

According to TMZ, Beyonce's mom, Tina Knowles has married Richard Lawson on board a Yacht in California, in an all white ceremony attended by Beyonce, Jay Z, Blue Ivy, Solange and others.

It's a second marriage for Tina, 61, who divorced husband, Matthew Knowles in December of 2011. Her knew husband, Lawson, 67 is an actor, best known for his work on the soup, All My Children. He also starred in the 1982 horror movie, Poltergeist.

PDP Condemns Oba Rilwan's Threat Via A Released Statement, Calling It Barbaric!!!!

The leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released a statement condemning in the strongest terms what is decribed as "the emerging heights of political recklessness in Lagos and Ekiti states ahead of Saturday's governorship and House of Assembly elections" calling on all Nigerians to up against such anti democratic tendencies. 

In the Statement which was released today by Oliseh Metuh, the Party's National Publicity Secretary, It read...

"The senseless and unpatriotic impeachment move against Governor Ayo Fayose by out-going APC state legislators and the barbaric death threats on non-indigenes in Lagos by the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu if they voted for the PDP candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje, ascends to a height of unruliness that should not be accommodated.

Continuing, he said.

"The PDP, totally an unequivocally rejects the flimsy and unsubstantiated allegations concocted by the APC legislators against Gov. Fayose. We state in very clear terms that we will stand with him and bear our full weight in defense of the mandate freely given to him by the people of Ekiti state. 

"We invite all lovers of democracy and the international community to note the antics of APC and the deliberate plot to destabilize the polity even when it is yet to assume power. 

"In the same vein, it is indeed most unfortunate that a royal father of the status of Oba of Lagos should attempt to drag the revered traditional institution into partisan politics to the level of threatening innocent Nigerians with the view to prevent them from freely excersicizing theri constitutionally guaranteed  right. 

"Our response to the Oba of Lagos is that he cannot play God and can never be God. God owns the universe and every part of it and can never share His glory with any human no matter how highly placed. We therefore call on all Nigerians in Lagos state, all Igbos, Hausas, Yorubas and people of other tribes; all northerners and southerners; all Christians and Muslims to turn against this unpatrotic stance, by coming out en-mass to vote for the PDP candidate, Jimi Agbaje on Saturday.

"Undoubtedly, this anti-Nigerian position reminds of 2013 inhuman and callous arrest, detention and eventual 'deportation' of non-indigenes by the APC-led government of Lagos State and confirms fear that the APC is indeed on a mission to destroy our national unity, balkanize the nation and obliterate the personal freedom Nigerians enjoy today.

"Already, the APC has started terrorizing supporters of PDP with vows to make life unbearable for them when it eventually assumes power. Our investigation reveals that many of our prominent supporters have been marked. The process has already started with threat to life, family and business of the Chairman of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN), Ifeanyi Uba for supporting PDP candidate and helping non-indigenes  win some Lagos seat in the National Assembly on the platform of our great party.

"Indeed, if this threat on duly elected state governor and innocent Nigerians constitute the picture or foretaste of the order of the day when the APC finally assumes power at the center, then the nation is in serious danger. However, the PDP states in very unambiguous terms that Nigerians will not accept such, under any guise whatsoever. 

"This is more so because, in the last 16-years, our citizens from all works of lives have seen civility and decorum under the PDP led administration and would not accept any attempt by anybody to institute a reign of terror in the country.

"We therefore urge General Muhammadu Buhari as the leader of the APC to call his members and supporters, particularly in Lagos and Ekiti to order; especially bearing in mind that it was the peaceful atmosphere and the level playing ground nurtured by the PDP-led administration that created the room for his emergence at the presidential polls.

"Our country cannot at this moment afford to slide into anarchy, reign of terror and deliberate schemes to divide the people for selfish political reasons.

"The PDP will completely resist all anti-democratic forces from any quarters. We therefore charge Nigerians, specially those in Lagos and Ekiti states respectively to stand up fearlessly and reject the unpatriotic stance of the Oba of Lagos and the undemocratic move to dismantle the mandate given to Governor Ayo Fayose by the people"

President Goodluck Compares His 16-years Of Service In Government To Being In A Cage

Woww! I totally understand, Mr President????

President Goodluck Jonathan has compared his years in government to being in a cage. This is what the soon to become private citizen said while he was receiving Easter visitors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.....

"I have been in government for 16-years, beginning from 1999. Not in government as a parliamentarian, because if you are a Senator or House of Representative member, you take care of yourself, you live in your own house. I was in a cage, being taken care of by government, from May 29th, 1999 till date; 16 good years. I think it's enough and I am happy"

And like we don't already know (lol), the president went on to state that he considers himself one of the luckiest Nigerians....

"For me as an individual, this Easter coincides with the time I am leaving office, but I always say that I am one of the luckiest Nigerians. I have yet to see anybody luckier than me"

He then added...

"Help me to thank God for that. I will continue to thank Nigerians for giving me the privileged. I became a deputy governor because Bayelsan's voted for me and my governor then (Diepreye Alamieyesiegha). I became a Vice-President because Nigerians voted for (Umaru) Yar'Adua and myself"

Hmmm, we wish you well sir. Now you can go back to having a normal life. God bless you and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!

PDP's Orubebe Apologizes To Nigerians!!!

PDP's agent Elder Godsday Orubebe has apologized for being such a jerk! He made a stupid attempt to disrupt the collation of the presidential result on a live broadcast, claiming that the INEC chairman Attahiru Jega was partial and demanded that the election be cancelled. His outburst however, was given an epic shutdown by a very calm Jega, making Mr. Orubebe look like a jerk!

With the loss of his party and president GEJ conceding defeat to Gen. Buhari, O'le boy was left with no choice but to apologize to Nigerians for his unwarranted behavior.

Patience Jonathan Moving Out Already?!!!

As the election results trickled in and it became evident that her husband, President Goodluck Jonathan had lost, the first lady, Dame patience Jonathan summoned her domestic staff and commenced the process of moving her personal belongings out of the villa in readiness for the change of guard. According to a source in the villa, by 6pm yesterday the truck had made two trips.
It is however unknown where the first lady's properties were transported to but it will be recalled that Mrs Jonathan was very involved in her husband's campaign and made vile comments about the president elect and his party!!!

For the first time in the history of Nigeria, the opposition has defeated the ruling party in a democratic elections. According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), General Muhammadu Buhari defeated the incumbent, president Goodluck Jonathan by about 2-million votes.

  "A new day and a new Nigeria are upon us" Buhari said shortly after his win on Tuesday. "The victory is yours, and the glory is that of our nations" he added.

The Nigeria presidential election has come and gone. The change we so yearned for is here. The incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan lost to the people's general, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari making him the first sitting president to lose an election, but through it all, he has been totally gracious in his defeat.
GEJ displayed class and unprecedented political maturity by conceding the election before the official certification and declaration of the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)....By so doing, he cemented himself as a true democrat in the annals of Nigerian history.  In his concession speech the true statesman, thanked Nigerians, congratulated General Muhammadu Buhari and urged PDP to celebrate and not mourn....
