Some real sad news. The Nigerian entertainment industry suffered a devastating blow today as one of her finest writers, Mrs Amaka Igwe passes on after a massive asthma attack.
The writer, producer, director, entrepreneur and teacher was in Enugu in preparation for the production of a new soap opera when she the incident occurred.
Born Amaka Isaac-Ene, she came into lime light as the writer of the award winning Soap opera "Checkmate" and it's equally popular and successful off shoot "Fuji house of commotion".
Mrs Igwe was a graduate of Education/religion studies from the prestigious University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University). She had a masters in Library and information services from another prestigious college, the University of Ibadan.
She was the founder of BOBTv Expo and also, the founder and CEO of Top Radio 90.9FM, Amaka Igwe studios as well as the newly launched Q Entertainment Network.
Some of her Nollywood productions are "Rattle Snake " and Nollywood classic, "Violated". She is survived by her husband of many years and three children. She will be remembered as one of Nollywood greats who truly changed the game; A WRITER AND PRODUCER EXTRAORDINAIRE!..... May her soul rest in the Lord!!!!
