The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Mohammed Sanusi II
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Mahammed Sanusi II has paid two separate courtesy calls on the leader of the All Progressive Congress(APC), Alhaji Bola Tinubu and the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu I
The Emir was said to be on a "Thank You" visit to the duo, following the role they played in his emergence as the revered Kano Monarch.
The Emir visited the Lagos Monarch at his Iga Iduganra Palace on Saturday and was later escorted by the Oba to Tinubu's Ikoyi home on Sunday.

The former Central bank boss who also paid a visit to Oba (Dr)Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebu-Land acknowledged the fatherly role that both Obas has played in his life, particularly their support in helping him ascend the throne of his fore-bearers. On hand to receive the Emir at the Ijebu Ode palace of Oba Adetona were traditional rulers from Ijebu Land, Senator Gbenga Kaka, Chief Sunny Kuku, Senator Lekan Mustapha, Chief Jide Awosedo as well as religious leaders from the land.
The emir in his speech, appreciated the two prominent traditional rulers for adopting him as their son for many years, saying his enthronement as the traditional ruler of Kano was the wish of Almighty Allah and the support of the traditional rulers.....

"I am happy to be here today. This is a long standing relationship. Both the Awujale and Oba of Lagos are my fathers. They have adopted me as a son for many years. They have both supported me and monitored me till I became Emir. Their prayers for me has led to my success and I thank them for their support"
"I am still going to visit two more Obas, tha Alaafin and the Ooni. My prayer is that, as leaders, we will strengthen the bonds of our people by upholding the tenets of our traditions"
Responding, Oba Adetona applauded the contribution of Alhaji Sanusi to the growth of the Nation's economy while holding sway of the governor of central bank of Nigeria. He also advised him to always offer positive advise to politicians and government at all times.
Emir of Kano and Awujale of Ijebuland sue for peace in Nigeria
The Serikin Hausawa of Ijebuland, Alhaji Yahya Garuba, noted that the new Emir would be the first Emir to visit Ijebu-Ode since he became Seriki in 1989. The Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government Area, Hon. Razaq Daddah described the visit as a landmark history that would go down in the annals of the town.
"I am very happy to be part of the epoch meeting. It is a royal visit and a responsible government would have to support the traditional institution. The hallmark of their discussion is that they stress the need for peace and progress of the two communities, to be courageous to say what is right and charges people to be courageous enough to face the authorities and commend them when they do right thing and condemn them when they are wrong", Daddah said.
