Oscar Pistorius Verdict: Negligent But Not Guilty!!!!

Olympic and Paralympic track star Pistorius reacts as he listens to Judge Masipa's judgement at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria

Oscar Pistorius, the South African Olympian who shot and killed his girlfriend on Valentine's day last year, was found "negligent" in the killing on Thursday(11th of Sept. 2014) but acquitted of murder charges before the court recessed for the day without final verdict.
Judge Thokozile Masipa halted the proceedings before delivering a ruling on a lesser charge of culpable homicide and said she would resume proceedings on Friday(12th of Sept. 2014).

"It's clear that this conduct was negligent" Masipa said

The Judge said did not find sufficient evidence to prove the prosecution's contention that Pristorius intended to kill Reeva Steenkamp after the couple had an argument, though she did not conclude that the athelet was negligent in firing his weapon four times through the door of the bathroom in his residence , in which Reeva locked her self.

Pistorius admitted to firing four expanding bullets into the toilet cubicle of his bathroom but he had insisted he mistook Reeva for an intruder, and he fired intentionally but not meaning to kill anyone....

I a nearly day hearing, Masipa found that Pretorius was negligent in the firing of his weapon and must have foreseen his actions would in the death of the person inside. She also concluded that he failed to take reasonable steps to avoid that person's death.

Reeva Steenkamp

After the initial finding clearing him of murder, Pristorius bent over and sobbed. Relatives and supporters crowded him,and his uncle, Arnold Pristorius, one of his closest mentors, hugged him fervently....

Masipa is still to rule on  whether he is guilty of a lesser crime over Reeva's death...Pristorius faces one count of murder, two of illegally discharging a firearm which is not related to the death of Reeva Steenkamp and one of illegally possessing ammunition, all of which he pleaded not guilty.
