Oh Mimi! We love us some Mariah Carey, because sometimes she’s just so over the top with the standards that come with her luxe lifestyle. While doing press for her upcoming international tour, the gorgeous Grammy award winning singer showed off her jaw dropping $10million engagement ring to interviewers and noted that “It’s a nice chunk.” When it comes to the weight of the giant 35-carat rock, Mariah claims “It’s so heavy I can’t lift my arm up!”

As if that is not enough, the couple recently moved to The Oaks in Calabasas, Los Angeles, home to many celebrities. The new pad will leave you gasping for breath. The couple are renting a eight bed room mansion, which has a guest quarters, private cinema and spa, an elevator, basketball court etc.

Ever since high school, I’ve been called a slut. All the boys were attracted to me—that wasn’t my fault! Then, when I started getting famous, the shaming got even worse. All these messed up stories came out about me, and I was like, “That’s not true! I’m not that kind of girl!” But even things I had done—things a man would never be judged for—got me lots of hate.
After my ex-husband Wiz Khalifa and I got a divorce, I’d go out for a date at a restaurant like any normal single human and people would say, “Man, she’s such a ho. She’s out at restaurants with guys.” Then they would see my ex-husband with a bunch of women. They would say, “He’s the man! That’s so cool.” So when I went on a date, I’m a whore, and when he’s piling girls in a car, he’s the man? There’s something wrong here.
It wasn’t just men saying these types of things. There were a lot of women saying hateful things to me. I was getting torn down constantly. But in the past year, I’ve just started not caring.
People would actually say things like, “Who would ever love you? You were a stripper. Why are you in relationships?” And I used to feel like I had to explain that maybe it was because I’m a good person.......Read more here

Friends And Family Gather To Bid Farewell To Singer Natalie Cole!!!

In honor of the life Natalie Cole, the fallen singer’s friends and family gathered to celebrate the star Monday morning. The funeral, lasting about three hours, was full of love and high praise of the artist. Celebrities including Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Kurt Carr all had wonderful things to say about the legend. Her family released a statement saying, “Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived … with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever.” [PEOPLE]

First Lady, Michelle Obama sure knows how to bow out in style!!!

For her final State of the Union appearance in Washington, D.C., Tuesday, the 51-year-old modeled a marigold wool crepe dress by Narciso Rodriguez. Michelle, 51, was seated in the House of Representatives gallery, where she received a warm welcome from attendees.

Michelle's sleeveless banded dress sold out online before the night was over. The look was originally priced at $2,095 at Neiman Marcus, but was later reduced to a more affordable $628.

The First Lady famously wore Narciso Rodriguez when President Barack Obama was elected in 2008. Past designers who have dressed the First Lady for appearances at Barack's State of the Union addresses include Michael Kors in 2015, Azzedine Alaïa in 2014, Jason Wu in 2013, Barbara Tfank in 2012, Rachel Roy in 2011, Isaac Mizrahi in 2010 and Narciso Rodriguez in 2009.

History was made last night!.......Nigerian/American rapper, Wale becomes the first ever rapper to open a State of The Union Address...Yep! Wale performed at the White House, during a live stream that was introduced by Vice President Joe Biden right before President Obama's final state of the union address.
When he wasn't performing, Wale found time to hang with Biden, and snap a selfie with Dr. Jill Biden, the Second Lady. This isn't the first time he's visited the White House: Last summer, he performed and spoke as part of First Lady Michelle Obama's Beating the Odds Summit. The National also have a long history with Obama.

Although Nick Cannon insists his divorce from Mariah Carey has been amicable, he reveals he probably won't take another trip down the aisle.

"I feel like marriage isn't for everyone,"
the Chi-Raq star, 35, tells DuJour in a recent interview.

"A friend of mine put it the funniest way" He said,

'If you heard that there was a 50/50 chance of living or dying when you jump out of a plane, you probably wouldn't go skydiving."

Needless to say, Cannon doesn't feel good about those odds.

Daily Trust, is reporting that the 2016 budget proposal submitted to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration on December 22nd is missing. The disappearance of this very important document was announced by Senator Ali Ndume during a closed door session that lasted 90 minutes today January 12th. This comes amid rumors that the N6.08tr budget was withdrawn from the Legislature by the Presidency. The Senators were supposed to commence consideration of the budget today. That figure though! Help us Lord....

The 30-year-old who sang the National anthem as well as Canan Smith's American the beautiful looked flawlessly beautiful in a see-through caped gown that fits like a glove. The championship game was between the Clemson Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide in Glendale, Arizona.

DG of Nigeria Broadcasting Commission, Emeka Mba, Arrested By EFCC!!!

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, arrested the Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Emeka Mba, over an alleged N15 billion fraud.

Mba was arrested in Abuja and taken to the EFCC’s headquarters where he is currently being grilled.

Those familiar with the investigation say the EFCC had been investigating the NBC in the past one month.

It will be recalled that last week, some detectives stormed the headquarters of the NBC, ransacking computers and files in the Finance and Account unit.

During the operation, some key Accounts staff were taken away.

Former Lagos Governor and now, Minister of Power, Road and Works, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has unveiled his 13-point agenda for the power sector in Nigeria. Fashola announced this at a maiden meeting he had with power generation, distribution and transmission companies, and other stakeholders in Abuja today January 11th, said the agenda involves continuous public engagement on tariff collection, debts, power generation, maintenance, ancillary services, dispatch orders and discipline, gas requirement and constraints, transmission constraints, 33KV load off take, imbalances-locations of excess, overload safety, service quality, new captive and embedded generation, franchising and other issues relevant to the growth of the sector.

He promised to work for a great improvement in power distribution.

Taraji P. Henson accepts the Golden Globe for best actress in a TV series drama for her work on ‘Empire.’

Who knew playing an ex-convict will take her around the world.....It sure did!

Two decades after after her debut in the film industry Taraj P Henson takes home her first Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Television series, Drama for her role as Cookie Lyon on "Empire".

As she worked to the stage to collect her award, the 45-year old handed cookies to anyone in her way, in honor of her character.

She later said that her cookie dispensing at the Golden Globes was not cooked up ahead of time.

"I just did not expect them to call my name. I never do," she said backstage after collecting her award for best actress in a TV drama.

"When they called my name, it was like, visceral. I was like, 'Well, the cookies are here. I guess I should hand them out!" she recalled with a laugh. "I don't know. I guess it was just the spontaneous moment."

She said they went fast, so she had no more to share backstage.

"I gave them all away. One went to Angela Bassett. One went to Gaga. And the last one went to Leonardo DiCaprio. I mean, what do you want from me?" she said.

She said the decision to play Cookie on "Empire" was the biggest risk of her career.

Some really sad news today!!!

Singer David Bowie, one of the most influential musicians of his era, has died of cancer at the age of 69.

A statement was issued on his social media accounts, saying he "died peacefully, surrounded by his family" after an "18-month battle with cancer".

Tributes have been paid from around the world to the "extraordinary artist" whose last album was released days ago.

Sir Paul McCartney described him as a "great star" who "played a very strong part in British musical history".

Bowie's son Duncan Jones, who directed Bafta-winning film Moon, wrote on Twitter:

"Very sorry and sad to say it's true. I'll be offline for a while. Love to all."

May his soul rest in perfect peace!

Singer Tiwa Savage's 6-month old son, Jamil was today unveiled as the new face of Nigerian Pampers, barely a week after the singer released a 15-seconds clip of her singing a nursery rhyme to her son. While many thought it was a new musical video from the Eminado singer, we can now authoritatively tell you that it was actually from pamper's new "mummy knows best" campaign which will feature Tiwa and her six month's old money making machine...lol!

"$2.1 bn Arms Deal Does Not Exist. It’s A Figment Of The Imagination Of The Current Administration" - Raymond Dokpesi!!!

Former Chairman of Daar Communications, Raymond Dokpesi wants everyone to know that the the current $2.1 billion arms deal fund does not exist and is a grand plan by the current administration to discredit PDP. It will be recalled that Dokpesi was arrested and later released on bail in connection with the arms deal scandal. Dokpesi made the above statement while speaking at his investiture as the patron of the PDP Youth Vanguard and honor as ‘the freedom fighter of PDP. Here is what he had to say....

“So much political water has passed under the bridge since the general election of April 2015, so much have been said about our members, many of whom have been publicly vilified even without being heard.
Even as I speak to you now the relentless pursuit of our members across the country is being intensified and I can say to some measure of certainty that a lot more light in store for the PDP and its members. Our party, the People Democratic Party, played a key role in the entrenchment of democracy in the country. We will not be weakened or demoralised in playing our role as the important opposition voice which is very critical ingredient in any democratic state. We may be harassed, we may even be bent, but we are resolute and will not be broken. In the 16 years in power, it brought about major reforms in the economy, communication, technology and business which has today made Nigeria the biggest economy in Africa. The democratic freedom upon which the now ruling party rode to power is made possible by PDP government, which ensured fundamental human right of citizens to freely express themselves were guaranteed, even at the expense of its existence as the then ruling party. Legislation like freedom of information act are realities of the PDP government. And I dare say that even the EFCC, the ICPC, and all the agencies that are today said to be dealing with issues of corruption were brought in place by PDP government. I speak in regard to the several matters before the law court of our country concerning PDP members and especially my humble self on charges filed against us by the federal government. The provisions of section 287 of the constitution are very clear on the obedience of court orders by all arms of government. Having said so, I must assure you that there is nothing like the much flaunted $2.1 billion dollars arms deal, it does not exist. It’s a figment of the imagination of the current administration in an attempt to disseminate, misinform, destroy the very root of the PDP and you must stand, each and every one of you must stand for the Peoples Democratic Party. I have unshakeable faith that the youth are not just the future but the present of our dear country Nigeria, and must be active if the heart-felt democracy is to be sustained and protected.”he said

Kim K Spotted Out And About Since Welcoming Son!!!

The reality star, Kim K-West, who welcomed her second child on Dec 5th, made a rare public appearance yesterday as she was seen with a friend at an underground parking of an office building which houses a medical clinic, in Beverly Hills. It's not clear why she was in the building but it's the first time she has been seen in public since the birth of her son. She looks amazing for someone who just birthed a son only a month ago!!!

In the magazine, Caitlyn, the popular transgender woman speaks on his/her journey into transgender family and the criticism she suffered along the way. OMG! May this never be our portion in Jesus name(amen). A Kano state man, Mallam Muhammad Hamma Yakasai dies few hours after his wedding fatiha on January 3, 2016. The couple had their wedding at about 10am on the faithful day and the groom passed on at about 6pm on the same day. There is no word as to what happened or how he died. may his soul rest in peace.

Gambia Orders Female Civil Servants To Cover Their Hair Weeks After The Country's President Declared The Nation An Islamic Republic!!!

Less than a month after declaring Gambia an Islamic republic its government has issued a decree ordering female civil servants to cover their hair while at work.

No reasons were given for the introduction of the new rule, which was announced in a memo that was leaked to local opposition newspapers.

It comes only a few weeks after President Yahya Jammeh announced Gambia would become an Islamic republic due to its majority Muslim population and a desire to break from its colonial past.

The memo, published by Freedom, stated 'all female staff' within government departments were no longer allowed to expose their hair during working hours, effective from December 31.

It went on to urge female staff 'to use a head tie and neatly wrap their hair'.

'All heads of departments and agencies are urgently advised to implement this directive and bring it to the attention of their female staff,' the memo concluded.

On December 11, Jammeh - who is notorious for his alleged human rights abuses and persecution of homosexuals - declared the West African country an Islamic republic.

Although it doesn't appear that his announcement changes Gambia's laws or its constitutional status as a secular state, it could yet form the justification for rules such as that now affecting its female employees.

During the declaration at a political rally in the coastal village Brufut, 9-miles west of the capital Banjul, he stated:

'In line with the country's religious identity and values, I proclaim Gambia as an Islamic state.
