Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle was joined by her mom, Doria Ragland and Prince Harry at the official launch of her charity cookbook project at Kensington Palace on Thursday.
The book titled "Together: Our Community cookbook" was created by the Duchess and the women affected by the Grenfell fire.
Meghan, who wore a black top, pleated black skirt and a bright blue coat, joined the women from th Hubb Community Kitchen and created a meal of coconut curry chicken, aubergine masala and chapatis from the recipes in the book.
The Hubb Community Kitchen (Hubb translates to love in Arabic) was founded in 2017 by a group of women as a place to cook for their family and neighbor affected by the Grenfell fire.
The book is already a best seller on Amazon and it's not even out yet. All proceeds from the book will go to the victims of the Grenfell tower fire tragedy.
See more after the jump!!!
Meghan gave a speech thanking the women of the Hubb. It was a short but passionate speech that truly showed her love for her new community. As she spoke, Prince Harry and Meghan's mother, Doria watched from the side with so much pride and the love in their eyes can not be over emphasized.
The look on Prince Harry's face as she spoke was totally PRICELESS. I think every woman deserves a man who looks at his wife the way Harry looks at Meghan.....(for real)!
....
Speaking to the women, Meghan said......
"Working on this project for the past nine months has been a tremendous labor of love.
I had just recently moved to London, and I felt so immediately embraced by the women in the kitchen: Their warmth, their kindness, and also to be able to be in this city and to see in this one small room how multicultural it was.
On a personal level, I felt so proud to live in a city that can have so much diversity. It’s 12 countries represented in this one group of women! It’s pretty outstanding.
There’s so many people to thank. Of course, Penguin Random House, your support and belief in this from the very beginning has been just incredible. And Al-Manaar for the support and seeing this through for us, our team at Kensington Palace and the Royal Foundation.
On a personal note, I’m especially grateful to them because this is my first project, so I appreciate your support in the vision I had for this and seeing it come into fruition. And then everyone behind the scenes, I mean it truly took a village to see this through"
