First Nigerian National Goal Keeper, Sam Ibiam Dies At 90!!!




First Nigerian national goal keeper, Sam Ibiam has died. He was 90. Family sources confirmed his death yesterday. Ibiam who was born in 1925 in Ebonyi State was the Nigerian goal-keeper for the UK selected team that toured the United Kingdom in 1949. He was popularly known as ‘The Black Magnet’ or ‘The Cat’, and he played for the first Nigeria senior national team known as the Red Devils.
