The police in Longview, Texas has arrested a 31-year old Nigerian man, Daniel Kadima for allegedly beaten his mother to death on July 28, 2015. The 61-year old victim, Dr. Hauwa Esther Kadima was an accomplished professor of languages and a published author. A blood covered chair was laying next to the victim's body when police arrived at her apartment and it's believed to be the murder weapon. The motive for the killing is not yet known but Daniel who is the last child of the victim is in custody and said to have a history of mental illness.

Dr Kadima was a long time professor of languages and mass communications at the University of Jos, Nigeria, where for many years she also served as a Head of Department. She hail from the village of Bakin Kogi in the southern part of the State of Kaduna in the northern part of Nigeria.
