Fashion designer, Kate Spade known for her sleek handbags is dead. The 55-year old was found hanged in her New York Park Avenue Apartment in an apparent suicide, law enforcement said.
Spade left a note at the scene and was found by her housekeeping at about 10:20am but it's unclear, how long she had been dead. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy.

The 55-year old Kansas, MO native was found with a scarf around her neck attached to a doorknob. The officials are not authorized to speak publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
Kate Spade founded her company, Kate Spade New York in 1993 and now has 140 retail shops and outlet stores across the US, and more than 175 shops internationally.
She is survived by her husband, Andy and a daughter she had in 2005. May her soul rest in peace. Amen.
