Here is an interesting story of 1 woman....20 boyfriends,....20 iPhones, and 1 down payment for a house.
The tale is circulating Chinese social media, and the hashtag "20 mobiles for a house" has been used 13 million times, the BBC reports.
It all started on the social networking site Weibo, where a blogger named "Proud Qiaoba" shared a story about a colleague of hers, pseudonymous-ly dubbed "Xiaoli."
Following the launch of the iPhone 7 in September, Xiaoli got each of the 20 guys she was dating to buy her an iPhone 7, which she then flipped on the tech recycling site Hui Shou Bao for 120,000 Chinese yuan, the equivalent of about $17,700. That's a lot of cash. Enough for a down payment on a house in the Chinese countryside. And at the housewarming party, Xiaoli shared the story of how she bought the house, much to the surprise of her friends.
"Everyone in the office is talking about this now," wrote Proud Qiaoba,
"Who knows what her boyfriends think now this news has become public."

The responses to the story have been mixed, with some Weibo users complimenting Xiaoli's ingenuity, and other condemning her for duping the guys who bought her the phones. One user called her a "shameless person."
The BBC confirmed through Hui Shou Bao that they purchased 20 phones from the woman, but Xiaoli declined an interview request. She's apparently not thrilled the story has received so much attention. But still. You've got to give her credit. Most people can barely get one boyfriend, let alone 20 (and those iPhones aren't the easiest to get your hands on, either). Whatever strange magic Xiaoli has, send some our way.
