Philly Dedicates A Stretch Of Broad Street To Hometown R&B Icon, Boyz II Men!!!

On Saturday afternoon, June 24th, 2017, the city of Philadelphia officially renamed the stretch of Broad Street between Christian and Carpenter as Boyz II Men BLVD. The R&B crooners have had a long and storied career that began in the city almost 3 decades ago. The fitting tribute took place on the steps of the Philadelphia High School of Creative and Performing Arts.

The group received a warm introduction from a number of local representatives and business people, including: City Representative Sheila Hess, President & CEO of Welcome America, Inc Jeff Guaracino, Wells Fargo Senior VP Anthony Rosado, Regional President of Live Nation Geoff Gordon, NBC10 GM Ric Harris, Second District Council man Kenyatta Johnson, First District Council man Mark Squilla, and Principal of CAPA Joanne Beaver.

Included in the festivities was an accepted invitation to perform with local orchestras at the forthcoming Met Opera House that will be operated by Live Nation, projects to get books in to the hands of the cities youth, and a performance by the CAPA Choir, a dedication to Boyz II Men. While the group may have moved to other areas, they still call Philly home, and it is where everything came to fruition. The gesture was another in a long line of appreciation that Philly has for its musicians. It was noted that while not NY, in many ways Philadelphia takes more pride in its musical heritage than some larger siblings, and Boyz II Men are an important part of that heritage.

Man Sends Wife Packing For Moaning While Being Raped By Robbers In Lagos!!!

What??? Who enjoys rape? This is kind of funny though!

A Nigerian man simply known by the name Baba Eneh who resides on Bello Street in Iyana Ejigbo area of Lagos state has sent his new wife packing for reportedly making sweets "moans" while being raped by armed robbers in his presence.
The sad incident happened when armed robbers invaded their resident demanding for money. The man, a transporter only had about N3,500 at home. This angered the robbers who then proceeded to to raping his wife to make up for his inability to come up with enough money.

Things got out of hand when instead of crying and screaming for help, oga madam forgot what time it was and started enjoying 'the thing'....moaning in excitement......lmao!!!

“Instead of her to cry for help, she was busy making some funny sounds, an indication that she was enjoying the sex, even in the presence of her husband,” a source said.

After the incident, the man reportedly asked her to leave the house on the ground that she disgrace him.

An “America’s Got Talent” contestant named Brandon Rogers died in a car accident over the weekend before his episode was scheduled to air. The 29-year-old aspiring singer was also a doctor who finished medical school last year.

Rogers went viral earlier this year after posting an Instagram video of himself covering Boyz II Men’s hit song, “On Bended Knee.” The footage caught the attention of the R&B group, who invited the young doctor to join them on stage at one of their Las Vegas shows.

Oyo, Osun Joins Ogun State, Declares Monday June 12 As Public Holiday!!!

To mark the 20th anniversary of the infamous June 12, the government of Oyo States and Osun States has joined the Ogun state and declared Monday, June 12th as a public holiday. The holiday is aimed at the recognizing martyrdom of the late Moshood Abiola the acclaimed winner of the June 12th 1993 presidential election that was annulled by the military regime of Ibrahim Babangida.
The election was at the time adjudged to be the freest and fairest in Nigeria's political history.

The government of Oyo, Osun and Ogun States believed and have all agreed that Chief Moshood Abiola ought to be honored for laying down his life for Nigerians to enjoy democratic governance.

This Is A Must Watch Yall: Sosoliso Plane Crash Survivor, Kechi Okwuchi Wows Judges At America's Got Talent 2017!!!

Kechi Okwuchi  was 16-years old in 2005 when she survived a plane crash in Nigeria that killed 107 people, including her close friend who was seating next to her in the flight.
Kechi was one of the two survivors in the ill fated Sosoliso plane crash.
Medical treatment at The Shriners Hospital in Galveston, Texas brought her to the US. She was burned over most of her body and had more than 100 surgeries, including skin grafts.
Doctors placed pins to support her hands.
Kechi would go on to graduate from The University of Saint Thomas. Not only did she bag a degree in Economics and Marketing she also won the chance to deliver the commencement speech at the graduation ceremony in 2015.

Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya has been buried. The mother of two who died on May 18, 2017 at the age of 42 was buried at Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi Cemetery today. The very gloomy and sad atmosphere saw her close friends, colleagues and family members burst into uncontrollable tears as her body was lowered into the grave.

Ogun State radio Presenter, Funmi Ewebiyi dies of cancer at 52

Popular voice on radio stations in Abeokuta, Mrs Funmi Ewebiyi, has died. She was 52!

The veteran broadcaster died last week after a long battle with breast cancer. She will be buried on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in Abeokuta.  

Until her death, she worked at different times as a freelance broadcaster, presenter, newscaster with OGTV, OGBC, Paramount FM and Rockcity FM, all in Abeokuta, Ogun State. She is survived by a son.

Brandy Hospitalized After Losing Consciousness On A Delta Flight!!!

Oh lawd! What a scare! Thank God she's doing well......

R&B songstress Brandy reportedly fell into unconsciousness earlier today on a Delta Airline flight from Lax to JFK, and had to be rushed to the hospital. Thank goodness, she is ok and has since been released from the hospital.

According to her publicist, Courtney Barnes, Brandy's rigorous schedule, including live concert dates and personal appearances, took a tool on the Grammy winner. The statement says that in recent days, Brandy has taken more than 10 long haul flights and that the singer was in the studio late Thursday night and went directly to Los Angeles International Airport for a 5.45 a.m flight.

"The stress of all of the travelling and working so incessantly has exhausted her. She will be relaxing for the next few days" ...Barnes said.

Contrary to speculations that late actress, Moji Olaiya's remains has arrived Nigeria for burial, publicity secretary for the actress's burial committee, Yomi Fabyi, has announced that the immigration procedure for the return of the body and her child Nigeria is now at an advance stage, with all documents properly secures. He also stated that actress will be buried at Ikoyi Cemetery once her remains arrive in Nigeria. He however didn't give a specific date for the burial or when her body will arrive in Nigeria.

NURTW chieftain, Hamburger's Wife And His Daughter Arrive Nigeria From Dublin Ahead Of His Burial!!!

The wife of N.U.R.T.W chieftain killed in Shogunle on May 29, has returned to Nigeria with her eldest daughter, for the burial of her husband.

Alhaja Abolore Bello flew in from Dublin, Ireland, ahead of Aro Rasaq Bello's burial which has been slated for Friday 2 June.

Mrs Bello reportedly came into Nigeria on Wednesday night with their first daughter, Kafayat, and they are currently staying with the deceased's mother in Odalume Street, Ladipo, Lagos.

Before his death, 49-year-old Aro Rasaq Bello, AKA Hamburger, was the chairman of the Lagos State Motorcycles Owners Association in Oshodi. He is survived by his lovely wife and four children. 
May his soul continue to rest in peace!

Obama Reacts To Donald Trump's Decision To Pull Out Of The Paris Climate Agreement

Former president, Barack Obama has issued a statement expressing his disappointment in Donald Trump for pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement.

Obama accused Trump of “rejecting the future” by pulling out of the Paris climate deal saying, 'this Administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future.”

At the moment, 194 countries including Nigeria still remain in the agreement while US joins Syria and Nicaragua as one of the three countries not in the Paris climate agreement.

A year and a half ago, the world came together in Paris around the first-ever global agreement to set the world on a low-carbon course and protect the world we leave to our children.  

It was steady, principled American leadership on the world stage that made that achievement possible.  It was bold American ambition that encouraged dozens of other nations to set their sights higher as well.  And what made that leadership and ambition possible was America’s private innovation and public investment in growing industries like wind and solar – industries that created some of the fastest new streams of good-paying jobs in recent years, and contributed to the longest streak of job creation in our history.

Simply put, the private sector already chose a low-carbon future.  And for the nations that committed themselves to that future, the Paris Agreement opened the floodgates for businesses, scientists, and engineers to unleash high-tech, low-carbon investment and innovation on an unprecedented scale.  The nations that remain in the Paris Agreement will be the nations that reap the benefits in jobs and industries created.  

I believe the United States of America should be at the front of the pack.  But even in the absence of American leadership; even as this Administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future; I’m confident that our states, cities, and businesses will step up and do even more to lead the way, and help protect for future generations the one planet we’ve got.
