Texas Governor Declares Day Of Prayer!!!

Texas Governor, Greg Abbot has issued a proclamation declaring this Sunday, the 3rd of September a day of prayer. The governor who was accompanied by Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen, made the proclamation outside a heavily damaged Church building in the battered Gulf Coast of Rockport, Texas. 
Speaking at the gathering, governor Abbot said.....

"As we gather today here at this Church, it's important that we remember that the greatest power that exist is the power of God and the way that God can touch and move all of our lives. It was God acting through the lives of so many Texans, who came to the rescue of other Texans. It was the power of God that was able to pull the people out of the water and literately saved them" he said.

Declaring, "there is no storm as tough as the people of Texas" he vowed, "we will rise again and we will rebuild this great town and the affected areas across the entire state of Texas"

Hurricane Update: Thank God, The Rain Is Over In Texas, But Sadly, Death Toll Rises To 39!!!

For the past week, Hurricane Harvey has wrecked havoc in Houston, Texas displacing thousands of people with unprecedented floods and thunder storms.

 At the moment, the heavy rain is over, but parts of Texas remain under many inches of floodwater and officially, casualties have risen to at least 39 deaths related to Hurricane Harvey.

 Also, Plumes of black smoke were reported after a fire at a flooded chemical plant in Crosby, Texas. The smoke is an irritant and residents around the plant have been evacuated. Currently, the entire city of Beaumont, Texas with a population of about 118,000 has no running water after both of its water pumps failed.

Lets continue to keep the good people of the Lone Star state in our prayers....May  the souls of all the victims rest in peace!!!

Nigerian Footballer (Soccer player) Emmanel Emenike and his bae,Iheoma Nnadi have  welcomed their first child, a girl, in a UK hospital. The former beauty queen, took to her page to acknowledge her new role as a mum. Posting this photo of herself and her fiance holding their baby, Iheoma wrote

"Many Women Cause Domestic Violence By Their Actions".....Lola Akande, Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs!!!

Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Lola Akande, has said that many women, by their actions, are the cause of some of the cases of domestic violence recorded in the state and by extension, in Nigeria.

Akande said this at a program on Management of Domestic Violence, organised by the ministry in Lagos today. She was represented at the program by Mrs Olushola Falana, Director, Women Development Department, WAPA. 

According to her, negligence, sophistication, misguided utterances, infidelity, use of abusive words and gullibility on the part of the women, are some of the actions women display that induce domestic violence.

“It is no longer news that many women have lost their lives through domestic violence. The more we try to put the blame on the men folk, the more we will continue to turn blind eyes to the fact that many women are the cause of the domestic violence we see today. This is because we fail to understand some important aspects of how most men are wired. Some women also cause violence by using abusive words and misguided utterances that can provoke the men. But let me also state that a man who beats a woman is a beast, and does not deserve to live with humans. No matter how provoked you may be as a man, please, never raise your hand to beat your wife, ” she said

The 48-year-old actress and singer shares pictures from their time together at the gym. In one photo, Jenny from the block is seen lying on the back of the former Yankees baseball star as he did push-ups. 

J-Lo was also pictured lying on her back holding an orange and white ball above her head as she did sit ups while Alex did the same with a large black and white ball opposite her.

Former first daughter, Malia Obama is officially a freshman at Harvard. The 19-year old arrived on campus of the prestigious Harvard University on Tuesday, the 22nd and couldn't slip by unnoticed. On hand to help her move in was dad, former president Barack Obama and her mom, Michelle Obama, accompanied by members of the Secret Service. Malia can be seen mingling with fellow freshmen at the elite school. Congratulations to her!

Oscar winning actress, Lupita Nyong'O is the proud daughter of her father. Luppy, wrote a long  note on her Instagram page, congratulating her father, Peter Ayang Nyong'O on becoming Governor.

 Peter Ayang Nyong'O contested in the just concluded Kenyan elections, wining to become the Governor of Kisumu County.

Actress Eucharia Anuonobi loses Teenage Son To Sickle Cell Anemia!!!

This is beyond sad!!!
Nollywood actress and Evangelist, Eucharia Anuonobi has reportedly lost her only son, Raymond Ekwu to sickle cell anemia.
Raymond, who she had with her ex-husband, Charles Ekwu had been living with sickle cell from birth.
The 15-year old, reportedly died on Monday, the 21th from complications from the disease. Our thoughts are with her at this very difficult time. Its bad enough to loose a child but to loose an only child is unimaginable. May his young soul rest in peace and may God comfort Evangelist Anuonobi and her family(amen)!
