She passed quietly in her home before 8am Eastern time. Her family is extremely grateful that her ascension was not belabored by a loss of acuity or comprehension....
She lived her life as a teacher, activist, artist and a decent human being. She was a warrior for equality, tolerance and peace....

Rest with the angels Ms. Maya, you were truly a phenomena woman. Our world is a better place because you came.............You will definitely be missed!!!
