BRF Ruled Out As Vice Presidential Candidate For APC!!!

Hmmm, Nigerian politics sha! If it isn't 'zoning ' then it is 'religion'!.
Only in Nigeria will an aspirant's candidacy be ruled out because of his religion....Yep! forget merit, you could be the best candidate and still don't stand a chance. If you are in doubt, please, ask Fashola!

There is no question that Lagos State governor, His Excellency, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) is one of the most performing leaders the state has seen in recent times. Governor Fashola has succeeded in changing the face of Lagos through series of transformation effected by his style of leadership which simply was not based on "Business as usual". 
His visionary projects catapulted Lagos into a mega-city of International standard. With his second term as governor coming to an end, there are people who wanted to see him move up to the federal level in next year's elections.....A lot of people were looking forward to him being hand picked to run alongside former Head of State, His Excellency, Mohammadu Buhari in 2015 presidential elections (After all, he is super-qualified). Well it turns out, that might not happen.  According to a new investigation by Punch, his religion stands in his way....Whattttttt????

The source reports that it is most likely that his party All Progressive Congress (APC), would field a Muslim as it's presidential candidate as three of the four major front runners are Muslims.....Retired General Mohammadu Buhari(Muslim), former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar (Muslim), Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwakwanso(Muslim) and Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah(Christian). So a Muslim/Muslim ticket will not fly!

"You know that the Southwest is a base for the APC and it also contributed immensely to it's formation. We would have preferred Fashola because of his pedigree in the state. Moreover, of all of the APC governors from the Zone, he is the only one doing his second term. But, this issue of religion is the problem. Apart from this, other APC governors from the Zone are also Muslims. You may need to recall that the enemies of our party tried in vain to before to label the party a Muslim party. Even though they have failed, we may also need to be guided by the words of advice from from former president Olusegun Obasanjo against any party fielding same religion ticket. This is what is hampering us concerning Fashola, whose performance and competence cannot be queried"
