A.J.Cooper, Former Host Of BET's Teen Summit Has Died!!!!
Ok! If I get one more sad news, I'm going to scream. This is just too much for one day!!!
A.J Cooper III, former host of BET's Teen Summit and a burgeoning politician who just recently made a bid for D.C. Council has died. He was 34. My Cooper died on Wednesday morning in his hometown of Washington D.C.
See more after the jump!!!
His death was confirmed by his mother, Brenda Rhodes Miller, who said, he died "suddenly" Wednesday morning. An aunt, Peggy Cooper Cafritz. said Cooper, known as Jay to family and friends, collapsed at his mother's home after complaining of chest pains and dizziness...."He had felt unwell in recent days" she said.
Cooper, achieved so much in his short life. He clearly wanted to make a difference. He co-hosted Teen Summit while still in high school and through college. He remained involved in politics and broadcast journalism. Politics ran in his family, his father Algernon Johnson Cooper was the first black mayor of Pritchard, Alabama, a large Caucasian town. Until his death Cooper III, was the policy director for D.C's Prevent Teen Pregnancy, and the altruistic Freedom Farms that assisted low income D.C residents with produce and jobs. And most recently, he organized a protest for Michael Brown outside of Missouri's Justice Department.
People all over D.C reacts to the news of his tragic passing on social network.......
May his soul rest in peace.....He will definitely be missed!
