Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan is a year older today. He turns 57. To celebrate, the president had a thanksgiving service with his family, close friends and members of his cabinet.
Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger(GCON), and President, Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was born to a Niger Delta family of canoe makers on November 20th, 1957.
He graduated from the University f Port Harcourt, where he studied Zoology and proceeded with his Masters and Ph.D degrees in Hydro-Biology and Fisheries Biolog, and Zoology respectively at the same University. Jonathan is married to Dame Patience Jonathan and they have two children.
Before becoming the Nigerian President, he served as Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Governor of Bayelsa, Vice-President and Acting-President. Jonathan was sworn-in on May 6th, 2010 as President of Nigeria, making him the 14th Head of State till date!!!!

Despite the numerous security and other challenges being faced in Nigeria today, some outstanding achievements have been recorded. Happy birthday Mr President!!!
